Who, What, Where?
(A drama about missions)

Director's Notes:
I wrote this for our Kid's ministry. They wanted to tell the kids more about what missionaries did and why they did it since we are sponsoring a mission family in Kenya. I developed the idea into one of my favorite themes - game shows. The kids really loved the contestant who just danced all the time and the message got across loud and clear.

Jack:    Jambo everyone. That means Hello in Kenya. I’m Jack Carver! Welcome to Who? What? Where? The game show that asks questions about who what and where! In our audience tonight are 3 lucky contestants. Let’s find out who they are. The first is Jason Russell, a student from Charlottesville Virginia who likes dancing,  girls, and dancing some more. Give it up for Jason! (Jason runs out of his seat in the audience and takes a seat in one of the contestant chairs.)

Jack:   Next is Skippy Fellows, a strange man from Chicago who likes toy cars, Big Bird, and Good and Plenty! Give him a big hand! (Skippy looks around, realizes it's him and runs out of his seat in the audience and takes a seat in one of the contestant chairs.)

Jack:  Finally, welcome Mandy Black, a student from Charlottesville who loves twirling, God, and apple pie. Give her a big hand! (Mandy runs out of her seat in the audience and takes a seat in the last contestant chairs.)

Jack: Welcome contestants!

All: Hello Jack!

Jack:   You know how to play the game. I’ll ask 5 questions and you’ll answer them. Everyone can buzz in but the first to do so gets to guess first. If you get the question right, you get 100 points! Let’s start with tonight’s category – Missionaries.

Jason:  (Complaining) How about something else? Like dance moves?

Skippy: Yeah, how about cars?

Jack:   Now, now, I don't choose the categories, I just read 'em! Okay, now, get ready for question 1: Why are missionaries in Kenya?

Skippy: (Buzzes in) Because they’re lost

Jack:   No, afraid not.

Jason:   (Buzzes in) To teach the natives some dance moves (play dance music as he does a crazy dance)

Jack:      Nope, sorry.

Mandy: (Buzzes in) Because they’ve prayed that God would use them to reach people for Jesus and they went.

Jack:   Righto Mandy! 100 points to you!

Jack:   Okay, here's question number 2:  What do missionaries do?

Skippy: (Buzzes in) Bobsled like in the Olympics! Zoom zoom!

Jack:   No, afraid not.

Jason:   (Buzzes in) They dance man, dance! (play dance music as he does a crazy dance)

Jack:   No, sorry. Wrong answer.

Mandy:   (Buzzes in) They tell people about God’s love and help provide for their basic needs.

Jack: Right again, Mandy! 100 points to you!

Jack:   Okay, here's question number 3:   What do missionary children do for fun?

Skippy: (Buzzes in) They like video games like Super Monkey ball and Jak and Daxter!

Jack:   No, afraid not.

Jason:   (Buzzes in) They shake shake shake! (play dance music as he does a crazy dance)

Jack:   Sorry.

Mandy:  (Buzzes in) Well, they don’t have things like we have for fun. There’s no jungle gyms like in McDonalds. They play in the dirt and catch things like lizards and frogs.

Jack:   Wow! Right again, Mandy! 100 points to you!

Jack:    Okay, here's question number 4: What problems do the missionaries and the people they minister to face every day?

Skippy: (Buzzes in) They, uh, they dance (no music plays)  uh, they um. They have BAD HAIR!

Jason:  (Buzzes in) Man, they don’t know the dance moves like dis one! (play dance music as he does a crazy dance)

Mandy:   (Buzzes in) Come on guys! They have lots of problems. Most people live in grass huts or ones made out of cow dung. They have no toilets and lots of people get really sick. Many people don’t have food or clean water and eat out of garbages.

Jack:   That’s right Mandy. 100 points. It’s not like we have it here is it?

Mandy:   No, not at all. We’ve got it made.

Jack:   You've got that right. Well, with that, here’s the final question: What can we do to help our missionary friends?

Skippy: (Buzzes in) Um, well, uh send umbrellas?

Jason:   (Buzzes in) Uh, danc…um, they can stay at my house.

Mandy:   That’s not going to help. Here’s what you can do. We can pray for them and ask God to bless them and their ministry there. We can also send them notes and letters telling them how proud we are of them and that we are praying for them.

Skippy:  Yeah, and we could send stuff!

Jason:   Yeah, like goodie packages filled with things that would be good to eat or to wear.

Skippy: There is lots for us to do! Let’s go do it! (Gets up yelling) Wahoo!!!

ALL:        (They run out screaming and yelling and shouting!)

Jack:      Well, that’s all we have time for today folks. See you next time on Who, What, Where!?!
