Dave: Honey! Honey! (runs to the center very dramatically and throws up his hands - dancing around!)

Teri: (gets excited) What is it?

Dave: (shouts) It's a Christmas miracle!

Lucas: What is it dad?! (everyone is up on their feet!)

Dave:  (holds up wallet) It's right here in this wallet!

Teri: (excited) Did you get that raise?!

Lucas: (excited) Are you raising my allowance?!

Isabelle: (excited) Did you buy me a pony?!

Dave: No, it's better than that! (pulls out a receipt) I found the receipt for my chainsaw from Sears! It's a Christmas miracle! (Teri and kids look stunned.)

Teri: What?

Dave: I'm going to go call my mom! (runs off stage)

Lucas:  (still stunned) Come on Isabelle. Let's go play with those happy meal toys!

Isabelle:   Great!

Teri: (looks at all the Christmas toys) But... But... (sighs)

Dave: (comes back in room talking on phone)... yeah and then I was thinking "Where would the receipt be?" and it was right there in my wallet. hmmm. Yeah. It's a Christmas miracle! uh huh. yeah. (starts looking and moving his finger) Mom! Mom! Remember how I was telling you that my finger was hurting me? Well, it feels better now! It's a Christmas Miracle! Wow! 2 in a row!

Teri:  (she was rolling her eyes through the entire conversation. When she hears that it's 2 in a row, she grabs the phone.) Audrey? Hi, it's me. Dave has to go now. He's lost his mind. Yes. I'll talk to you soon. Yes. Merry Christmas to you too. Bye. (hangs up) Now, Dave, about all this miracle stuff...

Dave: I'll be right back (runs off)

Teri: Dave? Dave? (sigh) (She starts reading her bible again...)

Dave: Dave enters and sneaks up on her with a boombox in hand. He holds it over his head and hits the button. The chorus from Barry Manilow's "Miracle" plays loud! It scares Teri and she jumps up)

Teri: Dave! What in the world are you doing? Give me that boombox! (starts grabbing for it)

Dave: But I'm celebrating my Christmas miracles! (dodges her around the couch)

Teri: David Robert Marsh, you have exactly 2 seconds to give me that boombox...1...2 (she goes to get it and Dave gives it up.)

Dave: But...

Teri: Now sit! (points to the couch)

Dave: But...

Teri: Sit.

Dave: (Dave sits)

Teri: (calms down and picks up the Bible and thumbs through it and finds what she wants then kindly says) Now, read.

Dave: (He starts reading. Put text up on a screen behind him if you can) "And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger." Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests." (Luke 2:8-14)

Dave: Wow. Now that's a Christmas miracle.

Teri:   Yes it is. (kisses his cheek) Merry Christmas, dear.
