Blah Blah Blah
(A drama about reading God's Word)
Director's Notes: Every day we diligently read the paper, listen to the radio, and watch T.V. We fill our heads with so much stuff that ultimately doesn't matter. After a while, this stuff just sounds like blah, blah, blah. What if we put down the paper, turned down the radio, and shut off the TV? And what if we picked up the Bible instead? What good things would God get a chance to tell us?

(LIGHTS UP CENTER STAGE)
Narrator: Once there was a man named Matt. Who lived in a house with a black, furry cat. He woke up each day, in the very same way and that’s all there is to that.
Narrator: You see Matt always cared to know more. From the moment he woke from his snore. He’d open his eyes and to no surprise, a paper was there by his door.
Narrator: (Newspaper person) Blah blah blah, blah blah blah, the paper would say to Matt. Blah blah blah, blah blah blah, the news can’t be as bad as that. Blah blah blah, blah blah blah, continued on page 8, Blah blah blah, blah blah blah, ain’t news in the morning great!
Narrator: Now Matt took a look at the clock, time for work said the tick and the tock. So he threw down his Joe and got ready to go, for he knew that there were shelves to be stocked.
Narrator: Now Matt liked to drive in his car, although work wasn’t really that far. Wisdom he’d yearn, so the knob he did turn. Cause there’s nothing like news in the car.
Narrator: (Radio person) Blah blah blah, blah blah blah, the radio would say to him. Blah blah blah, blah blah blah, Rush Limbaugh sounded so grim. Blah blah blah, blah blah blah, advice for the drive back home, Blah blah blah, blah blah blah, more news wherever I roam!
Narrator: Ah, Home after such a long day. Tonight to go out or to stay? First Matt would eat or soak his sore feet, then time to read, to nap or to play!
Narrator: Then he sees it there on the stand, the greatest device in the land. He sits in his chair, with far too much wear. And in a flash, the remotes in his hand!
Narrator: (TV person) Blah blah blah, blah blah blah, the TV would say to him. Blah blah blah, blah blah blah, his stocks are looking dim. Blah blah blah, blah blah blah, Dan Rather tells him stuff, Blah blah blah, blah blah blah, One channels not enough!
Narrator: (All people) Blah blah blah, blah blah blah, Matt hears it all day long. Blah blah blah, blah blah blah, Can too much noise be wrong? Blah blah blah, blah blah blah, He thinks he’ll blow his top, Blah blah blah, blah blah blah, This noise just has to STOP!
Narrator: In the quiet Matt had time to look, he saw it there in a small corner nook. The wisdom he sought, was found in God’s thoughts. So he opened and read from His book.
Matt: (Reads 1 Timothy 3:16) “All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It straightens us out and teaches us to do what is right. It is God's way of preparing us in every way, fully equipped for every good thing God wants us to do.”
